I've loved Kokeshi dolls since I first saw them as a little girl. Recently, they've become popular in craft designs, so I couldnt help but design a new quilt, "Lovely Ladies".
The little ladies on my quilt are worked in raw-edge machine applique, and the three-strip blocks are machine pieced. The dolls faces are worked in simple hand embroidered stitches.
The "Lovely Ladies" quilt pattern is featured in this months edition of "Patchwork and Stitching" magazine. I was SO excited to see the ladies peeping at me from the front cover!
There is also an article on "Crafty Bloggers", which has a little section about my blog in there too.

Such a pretty little quilt Fiona! Congratulations on the write up in CP & S I think I might just go and pick this edition up :)
